Three years after the first AURORA Cycling Jerseys I’m really happy to announce a dignified successor.
This time it’s just one design, but built on a whole cycling kit. Everything works perfectly together and looks great on bike. The AURORA Cycling Kit 2013 merges the best from his ancestors and combines it with contemporary and subtle design. Every piece offers well thought out features for long lasting performance and quality.

You can get the whole kit or put together your own as you need it.

What a weekend!
Got back from the Berliner Fahrrad Schau on Monday and I’m still really tired, but all the work was worth it. So much positive feedback and interest in AURORA during the whole weekend. It was great to speak and see so many customers. A lot people came by and said “hello” or even bought some new gear.
Thanks a lot for your support!
And also thanks to Sandra, for helping out so much and made it possible to set up such a nice booth. And speaking of the booth, thanks to Stefan (and also Max) from 8bar bikes who made it possible and let me share the booth with them. It was a nice to have you around. Also Stefan participated in some of the Fixed Days competitions and he made the third place in the Criterium.
Sadly there wasn’t much time for us to check out the Fahrrad Schau, but a lot friends visited the store and we at least had some minutes to talk. It was great to meet the nice people behind SWRVE UK for the first time, they do some really nice bike related apparel mostly Made in the USA or UK. It was also great to meet the guys at schindelhauer bikes and OZON bamboo bikes/Naturrad again. They do incredible work, still want to get a schindelhauer bike for me, this Carbon Belt Drive System they use catches me every time I see it and try it out. The upcoming releases by 8bar bikes also looked pretty legit.

But the work continues and there are a lot things in the planning process right now.
I’m making the last tweaks and decisions to get everything done like it should be.
Sounds mysterious right?
To clear this up a bit, I can proudly tell you that I’m working on a lot cut&sew stuff these days. From t-shirts, to buttondown shirts, more caps and also functional jackets.
And speaking of production, the background is also important, everything (!!!) will be Made in Europe/Germany under fair working conditions and as sustainable as possible. I’m really curious about all this and I can’t wait to show the results in the end.

Besides this I also worked on a new cycling kit design, I had a preview with me at the Fahrrad Schau and posted it on instagram aswell. Check it out here. It’s going to be a limited edition, so watch out for the preorder.

2012 is about to end in two weeks and i’m really happy to drop these two beautiful 5 Panel Caps right in time.
It’s the second AURORA // Quickstrike release, after the first collection gained a lot attention and positive feedback.

We all loved these movies back in the days and we all have some kind of connection to them. I wanted something that not just looks cool, it should provide a story for me and remind me of these days. Everything around us is based on good or bad things, wars we fight every day and a lot beauty in just the smallest details we face everyday. So this 5 Panel Cap release is called “Stars” // “Wars”!

The “Stars” // “Wars” 5 Panel Caps are made from a high quality licenced STAR WARS cotton fabric (by Camelot Fabrics – Made in USA). To provide a perfect shape the caps are fully fused, feature a quality genuine soft leather buckle and brass side panel eyelets.
These 5 Panel Caps are carefully hand-crafted in rural New Zealand.

What’s good?
It has been a long time, since I wrote the last entry here. Daily business just took to many time and I thought it would be good to come back with real news.
So it’s december, 2012 is almost over, pre-christmas craze just started and I like to drop some awesome new AURORA gear just in time for this.

With the good people from Topdollar in Berlin and their friend and illustrator “Der STöR” I finally finished a nice collaboration collection. I met Artje from Topdollar about two years ago after the Bright Tradeshow and we had some breakfast together. While talking, we decided that we have to do something together. We both love bikes, so why not keep it simple?
Pedal down the Hood
Get this awesome design on Shirts (black, white, grey), Tote Bags (black & natural), Sea Sacks and Gym Sacks.

Besides this collaboration, I was also working on more cut&sew pieces for AURORA and future releases. The first result is the AUROR 5 Pocket Chino Pant, which is availble from now on in two colors and four sizes! I’m really proud on this one, because it just fits and works perfectly.
It’s a modern 5 Pocket Chino cut with stretch added for comfort on bike or board.
Slightly slim-fitted, to keep the pant legs away from the chain/chainring and of course prevent for too much flapping around in the wind.

To complete the look, I added a new Crewnack to the collection. With the new awesome AURORA “Serif” Crewneck in grey and navy. Soft-touch, modern fit, simple and subtle design.
Fuck hype and branding, it’s about the quality.

One year ago, two close friends of mine finally opened their own store called “Reverie“.
They had a great year and gained a lot attention and positive feedback with their concept.
Besides a nice selection of brands you just rarely find in german shops, they’ve also managed to keep it down to earth and really friendly. It’s always great to see happy customers around the store who just feel good visiting, talking or chilling there.

We often talked about a collaboration and I thought it would be great to have something to celebrate their first year. So I started the collaboration on my own as a suprise.
On the last saturday they celebrated their birthday with close friends and customers. With DJ, cake and drinks it was a nice event and a good opportunity to finally reveal this collaboration!

The result is a highly limited and upgraded edition of the AURORA Compact Messenger Bag. Along all the other features I added a stabilizer belt, a custom Logo patch attached with velcro and also a additional layer of 1100D Cordura for the bottom.
I only made 10 of them.
To complete the look I also added a entirely new AURORA Hooded Zipper with a custom Logo patch, also limited to 10 pieces. This zipper is the first AURORA cut & sew piece.

Both items are only available at the REVERIE store in Münster / Germany or on request.

Just some quick news.
The Olympic Games 2012 in London will start in two weeks. The German Track Cyclists will go for Gold there and of course they will be riding with AURORA Straps. They’ve tested them over the last two years and won several Championships and Medals. Now they take them to London! This is a great honor for me and underlines the quality of the gear I’m producing.

To spread the olympic idea and in honor of the 5 colors, I made those special AURORA V2 Straps – Olympic Edition. These will just be available during the Olympic Games.

Here we go again.
Why not putting up another version of our Compact Messenger Bag, the Black Version received a lot positive feedback so far. So here is the AURORA Compact Messenger Bag “Flecktarn” (“Spotted Camouflage”) version which will help you to survive and hide in the urban jungle.
I’m still really proud of this product, because it took a lot time and effort to develop the construction, pattern and features of the bag. It features the best insights I discovered while using several bags the last years.
Perfect for everyday use, commuting, short trips and also for carrying larger and bulky goods. It is really tough and versatile, but it’s still a compact Bag.
Besides your daily essentials it takes your DIN A4 writing pad, iPad and also a Macbook (Air 11″/13″ or Pro 13″).
